Job Opening - Pastor for Youth and Mission.
Our Pastor for Youth and Mission, who for the past six years has done magnificent work growing our youth ministry numerically and in disciple making, has decided to pursue other opportunities. The ministry known as 4:12 (as in I Timothy 4:12) has a significant impact in the Marion community and typically has a hundred or so students in attendance. We perceive the “Youth Pastor” role as 50% of this position.
The qualified candidate will also serve the church in two of the three following areas dependent on his or her skills, abilities and passion. These each will account for 25% of this position.
Mission: The relational and transactional mission beyond the walls of the church is significant. In addition to annual youth mission trips, Marion Methodist sends three groups a year to our partner ministry site in Los Cohobas, Haiti is very involved in U.M.C.O.R., partners with our parachurch ministry “Marion Cares,” and feeds lunch at 8 sites each weekday when school is not in session through our Feeding Lunch to Youth (FLY) program. All programs are overseen by our Pastor for Youth and Mission.
Technology: Taking responsibility for “back of the house” and what goes on the screen for our Sunday and Wednesday programming and leading the technology team.
Worship: Assisting and sometimes relieving the Director of Worship and Technology on the chancel with worship leadership for 4:12 and/or Sunday mornings.
The help: Marion Methodist., like all dynamic churches has a plethora of volunteers that articulate the ministries noted above at the direction of the Pastor for Youth and Mission.
