Marion Methodist Garden

Come see what’s new in the garden!
This spring we’ll be adding some beautiful pollinator plants to the Marion Methodist Urban Garden and planting cauliflower, patty pan squash and turnips for our ministry partners at Feed Iowa First.

Join in the planting and caring for plants that will help abate food insecurity in our community. There are opportunities for all ages and abilities to participate in this valuable ministry. Visit the Sign Up link below or email Gwyn.Erb@gmail.com for more details. Or, just plan to stop by the garden any Monday morning in March between 8 and 9AM for some early season prep work.

Monday, April 1, 8-9 AM: Come spread mulch and top raised beds with compost. Kids out of school that day are welcome.

Monday, April 8, 8-9 AM: We will walk out to the garden for a short time of prayer and to anoint the garden for the 2024 growing season.

Thursday, April 11, 6:30-7:30: Kick off the growing season by planting radish seeds in our new raised beds. Craft a watering pot to take home or choose some seeds for your own urban garden plot.

He is the Maker of heaven and earth,
the sea, and everything in them—
he remains faithful forever.
He upholds the cause of the oppressed
and gives food to the hungry.

Psalm 146:6-7
